Astronomical Observatory at Kolonické sedlo
It is the best place for astronomical observations not only for the general public but also for professional astronomers.
The Vihorlat National Telescope, which is the second largest telescope in Slovakia, is available for observation.
Even if the weather isn’t suitable for stargazing, it doesn’t matter. Visitors can get all the important information about the Carpathian sky in the planetarium, which can be used to project a virtual night sky, show films in a full-screen projection or listen to important information about astronomy or light pollution. The Poloniny Dark Sky Park (Park tmavej oblohy Poloniny) was declared for this purpose in 2010.
